Bigjon, born Jonathan Harris, is an independent hip-hop artist from Baltimore, Maryland, known for his honest storytelling, lyrical focus, and deep respect for the art of hip hop.
Bigjon’s connection to music began early. Raised in Baltimore, he discovered hip hop at the age of twelve and was immediately drawn to its power of expression. Inspired by legends such as Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Ludacris, will.i.am, and 50 Cent, he developed a strong appreciation for lyricism, flow, and meaningful storytelling.
At sixteen, Bigjon began writing and rapping his own songs, using beats from popular artists while sharpening his skills. He performed at school events and church gatherings, where his songwriting, vocal ability, and stage presence were met with strong support. Alongside rapping, Bigjon also sang in his church choir from a young age and later led performances on stage—experiences that helped shape his musical versatility and confidence as a performer.
After high school, Bigjon temporarily stepped away from music to focus on his education. He attended Towson University, majoring in Media Production, and graduated in 2019 with a 3.5 GPA. He entered the broadcasting field that same year, initially believing it would be his long-term career. However, after several years feeling unfulfilled creatively, he made the decision to return to his true passion.
In the summer of 2024, Bigjon officially returned to music and began working on his debut EP, HERE I COME, which was released on January 1, 2025. The six-track project—Rise Again, Sponsor, Spirits, Powers, No More, and Don’t Judge Me—was fully written by Bigjon. Most of the EP was recorded and produced at SongBuilder Studios in Baltimore, with the track Powers recorded at Lounge Studios in New York City.
Following the EP’s release, Bigjon steadily built momentum throughout 2025. He performed at open-mic venues across Baltimore, appeared on podcasts, was featured in written articles, and was interviewed on Chicago 77.3 Internet Radio. He continued releasing new music, including the single “Level Up,” recorded at Lounge Studios in New York City and released in September 2025.
In late 2025, Bigjon released “Don’t Mess With the Flock,” a bold diss track addressing the Baltimore Ravens’ on-field struggles, followed by another single, “Persona,” released on December 24, 2025. He is currently preparing the release of a new single titled “The Flames.”
Bigjon’s music is driven by purpose. In an era where he feels much of hip hop prioritizes money over meaning, he remains committed to quality, lyricism, and storytelling. His journey is also deeply personal—he dedicates his work to the memory of his mother, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021, and his grandmother, who passed away in 2025. Their influence fuels his determination to succeed and leave a lasting impact.
With a growing catalog, live performance experience, and an unwavering work ethic, Bigjon continues pushing forward—focused, resilient, and fully committed to his vision.
